Kelly Smith Joins Stone Pigman as an Associate

Stone Pigman is pleased to announce that Kelly Smith has joined the firm as an associate in its New Orleans office.

A New Orleans native, Kelly graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University Law School where she was an Order of the Coif award recipient and Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review. Her article, Assessing the National Landscape of Constitutional and Ethical Disclosure Requirements During Plea Bargaining: Louisiana Comes Up Short, was published in the Tulane Law Review. Kelly gained practical experience as a student attorney with the Criminal Justice Clinic and as a clerk for the Tulane Legal Assistance Program. She also tutored first-year law students through Tulane’s Academic Support Program.

“Kelly is a go-getter with strong leadership skills,” said Michael Walshe, Chair of the Stone Pigman Management Committee. “Her skillset and ability to navigate complex topics will serve our clients well and further strengthen our growing litigation team.”

A history enthusiast, Kelly previously worked in the museum industry where she developed and guided tours for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, which owns and operates Monticello in Charlottesville, Va.

“In addition to Stone Pigman’s reputation for producing high-caliber work, I am drawn to the firm’s ethical approach to practicing law,” said Kelly. “I am thrilled to start my professional career at Stone Pigman where I can benefit from the knowledge and guidance of so many talented, experienced attorneys who provide superior counsel and service to such a wide array of clients.”

Kelly earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Arts from Portland State University. Outside of work, Smith enjoys spending time with her family, writing short stories and attending Broadway musicals.
